This was by far the best concert I’ve ever been to. Had De La Soul come onstage a SECOND time for the biggest hit. They closed off, like u mentioned earlier, with Demon Days and the hits from Demon Days. She just jumped onstage and said 1000 words in 10 seconds and danced around like it was nothing. Little Sims - which no one in there had ever heard before - that was the biggest highlight for me. They even played some of the stuff from their ‘Super Deluxe’, spesifically Garage Palace feat. I legitimately was RELIEVED when they played songs from Humanz. They certainly didn’t, but it felt like they played their whole discography. Humanz is maybe their least liked album as of now 2. I thought it would be Humanz, through and through, with some throwbacks - which had me worried as 1. Now, I must confess, I was extremely worried about this concert. Not to mention ALL their features, who have amazing singing talent in their own right. In the final few songs, you could have convinced me I was in the middle of a gospel song at church. Best example of this is their back up singers, who, in my humble belief, went above and beyond. It’s an extremely impressive feat, and you’ll appreciate parts of their music you’ve never thought of. Most of the instrumentation for their live shows is just that, LIVE. (though they are apart of Gorillaz) But when Gorillaz got onstage, it absolutely blew my mind. The openers (Vince Staples and Danny Brown) were just as fantastic as Gorillaz themselves. By far the best concert I’ve ever been to.
